This is Avi’s Brother, Uri Marcus. I am here in Jerusalem with
YvonneWittstock (Pocohontas), who is visiting Avi and Dina, and
working withthem to assist them with their upcoming Succot Tour.
We are writing to jointly inform you of sad news we received earlier
today. Yesterday morning (05 Sep 09) at approximately 10:51 am,
Eastern Time, Avi’s first born and only son, Yonatan, age 24, died in
his sleep from as yet undetermined causes. He had been diagnosed
withpost-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which came about as a
result ofhis participation with the IDF in the 2nd Lebanon War,
which took placein Israel, during the summer of 2006.Yonatan left
Israel in January of 2008, where he had been living in NewYork
City, until his untimely death yesterday.We are coming before you,
on behalf of Avi and Dina to request greatlyneeded help in order to
financially assist them in attending and payingfor the formitable
costs of the funeral of Avi’s son. The funeral will takeplace in the
New York City area on Tuesday, the 8th of September.Any
immediate and future financial assistance you can offer, would be
greatly appreciated, and will help cover funeral, airfare, hotel
accommodations, and/or other related expenses. Please make your
