Weekday Reading
Ezekiel chapter 10 & 11
Eze 10:1 Then I looked, and see, in the expanse that was over the head of the Keruvim there appeared above them as it were a sappir stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.
Eze 10:2 He spoke to the man clothed in linen, and said, Go in between the whirling [wheels], even under the Keruv, and fill both your hands with coals of fire from between the Keruvim, and scatter them over the city. He went in as I watched.
The coals will act as purifiers, to cleanse the bodies and blood of the dead.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 10:3 Now the Keruvim stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.
Eze 10:4 The glory of YHWH mounted up from the Keruv, [and stood] over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of YHWH’s glory.
Eze 10:5 The sound of the wings of the Keruvim was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of El Shaddai when he speaks.
Eze 10:6 It came to pass, when he commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, Take fire from between the whirling wheels, from between the Keruvim, that he went in, and stood beside a wheel.
Eze 10:7 The Keruv stretched forth his hand from between the Keruvim to the fire that was between the Keruvim, and took [of it], and put it into the hands of him who was clothed in linen, who took it and went out.
Eze 10:8 There appeared in the Keruvim the form of a man’s hand under their wings.
Eze 10:9 I looked, and behold, four wheels beside the Keruvim, one wheel beside one Keruv, and another wheel beside another Keruv; and the appearance of the wheels was like a bareket stone.
Eze 10:10 As for their appearance, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel have been within a wheel.
Eze 10:11 When they went, they went in their four directions: they didn’t turn as they went, but to the place where the head looked they followed it; they didn’t turn as they went.
Eze 10:12 Their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, [even] the wheels that they four had.
Eze 10:13 As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing, the whirling [wheels].
Eze 10:14 Every one had four faces: the first face was the face of the Keruv, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third face the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
Apparently one of the reasons that angels always have to say “Don’t be afraid!” when they first appear is that their faces don’t look exactly like human faces. Here the two are clearly observed as being different.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 10:15 The Keruvim mounted up: this is the living creature that I saw by the river Kevar.
Eze 10:16 When the Keruvim went, the wheels went beside them; and when the Keruvim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the wheels also didn’t turn from beside them.
Eze 10:17 When they stood, these stood; and when they mounted up, these mounted up with them: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.
Eze 10:18 The glory of YHWH went forth from over the threshold of the House, and stood over the Keruvim.
Eze 10:19 The Keruvim lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight when they went forth, and the wheels beside them: and they stood at the door of the east gate of YHWH’s House; and the glory of the Elohim of Yisra’el was over them above.
Elohim’s glory, elsewhere called the Shekinah, or presence, is about to leave the Temple Mount. This event occurred during Ezekiel’s own day, and does not appear to be prophetic for us (unless the glowing fire and cloud of the presence should re-appear when the 3rd Temple is dedicated – if that does happen, the Presence will again leave immediately prior to the desecration at the Midpoint of the Tribulation). Either way, the prophecy that follows later of the Shekinah returning to the Temple, however, is for our time –that occurs in the last chapters of Ezekiel’s book. It is included in his descriptions of Jerusalem and the Temple after the King of Kings returns. After the Temple Mount is cleansed and everything is repaired and made ready, the first Chanukkah after the Second Advent we will witness the return of the Shekinah.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 10:20 This is the living creature that I saw under the Elohim of Yisra’el by the river Kevar; and I knew that they were Keruvim.
Eze 10:21 Every one had four faces, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings.
Eze 10:22 As for the likeness of their faces, they were the faces which I saw by the river Kevar, their appearances and themselves; they went every one straight forward.
Eze 11:1 Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of YHWH’s House, which looks eastward: and see, at the door of the gate twenty-five men; and I saw in the midst of them Ya`azanyah the son of Azur, and Pelatyah the son of Benayah, princes of the people.
The leaders of Jerusalem and the State of Israel.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:2 He said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city;
Eze 11:3 who say, [The time] is not near to build houses: this [city] is the caldron, and we are the flesh.
This would seem to indicate our modern present age, when the leaders of the Rabbinate and the State of Israel decline to firmly claim the entire territory of the State of Israel as belonging to Jews and allowing homes and settlements to be built by Jews there. Certainly there wasn’t any such problem during Ezekiel’s own time.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man.
Eze 11:5 The Spirit of YHWH fell on me, and he said to me, Speak, Thus says YHWH: Thus have you said, house of Yisra’el; for I know the things that come into your mind.
Eze 11:6 You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled the streets of it with the slain.
Eze 11:7 Therefore thus says Adonai YHWH: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this [city] is the caldron; but you shall be brought forth out of the midst of it.
Eze 11:8 You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you, says Adonai YHWH.
The leaders of the State of Israel have “multiplied their slain” by refusing to deport the Arab Muslims and continually making treaties and alliances with them which they know good and well will not be kept, causing Israelites to die by Muslim violence.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:9 I will bring you forth out of the midst of it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.
What they refused to do to the Muslims will be done to them, instead.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:10 You shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Yisra’el; and you shall know that I am YHWH.
Eze 11:11 This [city] shall not be your caldron, neither shall you be the flesh in the midst of it; I will judge you in the border of Yisra’el;
Eze 11:12 and you shall know that I am YHWH: for you have not walked in my statutes, neither have you executed my ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.
The UN and other nations of the world insist upon actions that give away Israel’s land and continually allow those hostile and treasonous to the State of Israel to remain in their borders – none of which Elohim condones.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:13 It happened, when I prophesied, that Pelatyah the son of Benayah died. Then fell I down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Adonai YHWH! will you make a full end of the remnant of Yisra’el?
Eze 11:14 The word of YHWH came to me, saying,
Eze 11:15 Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your relatives, and all the house of Yisra’el, all of them, [are they] to whom the inhabitants of Yerushalayim have said, Get you far from YHWH; to us is this land given for a possession.
Eze 11:16 Therefore say, Thus says Adonai YHWH: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they are come.
Especially southern Jordan, probably at Petra, where the Torah True Jews are to flee when the Abomination occurs. Everyone else will be ok “for a little while” when the birth pangs are starting, but that protection will not last. The Great Tribulation will see Torah True Jews and Believers all over the world martyred – unless they have made Aliyah and are ready in Israel to flee to the place of security prepared for those in and around Jerusalem alone (in the fields and on the housetops, says Yeshua).
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:17 Therefore say, Thus says Adonai: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you Eretz-Yisra’el.
This is referring to the Feast of Ingathering – Sukkot – which is the inaguration of the King of Kings over the world.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:18 They shall come there, and they shall take away all the detestable things of it and all the abominations of it from there.
And on Chanukkah, the Shekinah will return.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:19 I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;
Eze 11:20 that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their Elohim.
This is, as Jeremiah already told us, the essence of the “new covenant.” There is no other “new covenant.” Yeshua’s purpose in giving his Believers the “new covenant” is to write the Torah on our hearts and minds so that we can remember and do it – unlike the current covenant, written on stone and paper.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:21 But as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads, says Adonai YHWH.
It is the Torah that tells us what sin is, what things are detestable, and what things are acceptable to Elohim. If you are using some other set of rules, you are outside of Elohim’s will.
Ezekiel, continued:
Eze 11:22 Then did the Keruvim lift up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the Elohim of Yisra’el was over them above.
Eze 11:23 The glory of YHWH went up from the midst of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city.
Eze 11:24 The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of Elohimnto Kasdim, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
Eze 11:25 Then I spoke to them of the captivity all the things that YHWH had shown me.
This is symbolic for us of the new covenant. Elohim’s presence, in the form of the Ruach HaKodesh, has been placed in us. It is here with us in exile. It writes the Torah on our hearts and minds and helps us to remember and to obey. It is our seal, the “mark” put on us to ensure that we are counted as redeemed, obedient believers who, even if we die, are not slated for destruction. Our body is now a Bait HaMikdash Kattan, a little Temple, and we must make sure we stay free of sin and uncleanness, so that we do not grieve the Ruach HaKodesh. If we do so, we can repent, be immersed, and restore our relationship with Elohim. This is what we are called to do right now. The Spirit is calling loudly to us, “Come out of her my people!” – before it is too late. Listen to the Spirit! The time of our visitation is nearly upon us.
